Quality Over Quantity…
Quality Over Quantity…
The Empowerment Center has formed its own writer’s group that uses writing as a tool of expression. Each of the members are encouraged to express themselves, foster insight and self-awareness as well as to generate support from others through the process of writing. This writing process allows unknown or repressed material to emerge into the conscious mind.
The Empowerment Center educates individuals how writing for wellbeing is about connection and exploration. We use the craft of writing, metaphors and color and structure. This is a craft to express the truest version of themselves.
The Empowerment Center educates the participants on the power of writing for wellbeing is half in the writing, and half in the sharing. Reading something out that tells a group of near strangers about your hardest time, or your deepest desires can be terrifying. We encourage sharing, but it is not mandatory. The power is taught in the ability to accept the thanks for sharing, and to have someone acknowledge your pain, or relate to your dreams? It is immensely powerful. Teaching truly what empathy is and how it plays a large part in writing, and in wellbeing.
The Empowerment Center educates participants on the benefits of writing for wellbeing and taking their power back in areas they feel they are not in control. This assists them in feeling more confident, feeling ‘heard’, leaving behind negative memories and associations, finding joy, feeling comfortable with vulnerability, managing stress and having fun and most of all free.
The Empowerment Center actively seeks to fill positions for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) & Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) as well as Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Technicians.
